Sorry I didn't get more done yet, but I'll be trying to get all the new layouts done as soon as possible.
Here's the first page. I tried to arrange it to silhouette the characters more and watched out for tangents.
This is the level of finish I think the line work should be at, and then we can lay very basic paint underneath.
IMPORTANT: WE ARE CHANGING TO IPAD MINI RESOLUTION (1024x768, 168ppi)
The rest of the layouts I do will be much rougher, so for the linework:
- Use a simple hard edge round brush.
- Full opacity
- SHAPE DYNAMICS turned on, and then turn the minimum line width up -- otherwise it's difficult to do shift+click to make straight lines.
- It's important that you have confident clean lines. Try your best to not sketch; complete a line in one stroke. If you do make a sketchy line, go back with the eraser to clean it up.
- Think about thick and thin. For example, the door frame can have a bold line, while the wood texture should be much thinner.
- With the wood texture, don't get carried away; just little accents here and there (knots, nails, cracks), and don't just use lines for the wood grain, draw long warped W's, V's (a la Baron Storey).
I'll upload the PSD on the drive, if somebody wants to experiment with painting this.

This is both super clear and super helpful! Ill get all of my BGs to this level in the next couple days. Thank you.
